Corinna graduated from the Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine and went on to gain her Clean Needle Technique & Board Certification in Oriental medicine in the U.S. (NCCAOM) Shortly after she took up a position at an orthopaedic clinic in the west end of Toronto. It was here she learned to work with a healthcare team, promoting awareness of acupuncture & its applications. She acquired the skill set necessary to liaise with the other healthcare providers, in order to best meet the patient’s needs. Corinna’s interest in pain management was also sparked, particularly after working with dancers from the National Ballet school. Her interest in soft issue dysfunction & chronic pain spanned over the last 20 years. This interest has led her to pursue further training in the U.S. and abroad. Including anatomy dissection, biomedical acupuncture training, scalp acupuncture, Japanese style, National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA), and medical applications of Gua Sha. Most recently her training took her to Nepal with Acupuncturists Without Borders (AWB) where she provided care in remote villages. Corinna is co-owner of Blue Mountain Acupuncture Clinic in Collingwood, Ontario where she herself grew up. The practice is set up with her husband, also an acupuncturist, Jeff McMackin, 10 years ago. She has worked hard to garner the respect of the local medical community and is now often sought out for her work with soft tissue pain and degenerative musculoskeletal conditions. Corinna has a spirit of compassion and takes a gentle and sensitive approach to pain management through acupuncture.
